Molly’s Millions (February 24, 2010)

As promised here is my first book review and apologies for it’s shoddy lateness. As some of you already know, The Lovely Husband and I are coming towards the end of the adoption process, so whilst it’s a magical time for us, we’ve been very busy getting everything organised. Making greenhouses safe, chasing up police checks and resisting the temptation to buy cute rain macs covered in little pink strawberries. Will keep you posted….

Firstly I have to say that I just love the cover of this book, it made me feel happy before I’d even started reading the story which is just deligthful. Molly, a florist, is a lovely heroine who wins the lottery and then sets off on a road trip journey of discovery. She’s on a quest to give away her winnings. There are some twists along the way, her family are an interesting bunch, and the dramatic climax in London is very exciting.  And of course there’s a gorgoeus romantic interest, a journalist with a ten year old daughter.

I read this book some time ago and I’m still thinking about it which just goes to show how much I cared about the characters and enjoyed the adventure. Molly’s Millions is a wonderful, warm and happy read, and in my opinion it should be available on prescription as it’s a real tonic during these cold rainy days.  Anyway, I’m off now to have another stroke of the cover before cracking on with my word count.
